Sampurna Felicitates and Honors Women On The Occasion Of International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Sampurna in association with Indian Federation of United Nations Associations (IFUNA) organized an event to felicitate those women who have contributed immensely in the development of the country, especially those who stood brave in the face of a pandemic and continued to work for the betterment of the community.The event was organized in India International Center. Various representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations were present at the event and appreciated the objective behind the award ceremony.


In her opening speech, Dr Shobha Vijender, Founder President of Sampurna expressed how she admired the courage of the women who did not fear for their lives and instead were dedicated to the welfare of the community, of the country as a whole. Chairman of IFUNA Justice S.N. Srivastava and Secretary General Mr Suresh Srivastava also extended their wishes to the awardees and the women present in the audience in their address. Smt Bindu Dalmia, Ex Chairperson Niti Aayog Committee of Financial Literacy was the Chief Guest in the event.She appreciated event and commended the efforts of IFUNA and Sampurna in organizing the event. She spoke highly of the awardees and endorsed their work. Dr Shikha Darbari IRS who was a Guest of Honor highlighted how the women who are independent and working in the community need the parents who trust in her and motivate her to go further. Dr S.N. Basu who was also a Guest of Honor highlighted how women play an essential in the improvement of the health of the society as whole and said that raising one girl child is equivalent to raising 10 boys.


Students from St Margaret School performed Ganesh Vandana. Dr Rupal Manish Dalalwho is a pediatrician and worked on ground level to improve child health, Smt Devika Anand who worked to get food and resources for the needy during the pandemic, Dr Ruchi Varshney physiotherapist, Smt Puja Preeti, Ms HiyaviSaigal were some of the awardees felicitated at the event for their great contributions towards the country. Ms Tanvi Grover, Manpreet Kaur, Nirmala Chahal, Chitra Aggarwal, Smita Kaushik and Jaya Ghosh were also present.
